Emmerdale and Coronation Street cancelled tonight in huge soap shake-up – ahead of months of schedule chaos
EMMERDALE and Coronation Street fans face major disappointment tonight with both soaps cancelled.
The ITV soaps will not air tonight and it’s only going to get worse for soap fans with months of schedule chaos ahead.
Instead of the long-running soaps, ITV is showing Germany vs Scotland, the Group A match from the Euros.
And with the football tournament set to last until July, that means soap chaos for fans expecting to watch their favourite shows.
Rival soap EastEnders isn’t immune either with ITV and the BBC sharing the football fixtures.
Then there is also the on-going changes relating to the General Election requiring changes to existing schedules.

Wimbledon fortnight will also play havoc with EastEnders’ broadcasts making it a very tricky summer for the soaps.
On Emmerdale viewers can expect to see two shock exits coming after The Sun exclusively revealed Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana have quit the soap.
A source said: “It’s not going to go unnoticed that three of the village’s gay characters have been written out within a a matter of weeks of each other.
“The optics aren’t good especially when it’s pride month. The fact is decisions are taken months in advance and there are lots of different factors that go into to things like this.
“It’s very unusual for three actors with the same character profile to leave at the same time.”
The source added: “The feeling is that the characters weren’t given a fair shot.
“They were barely used despite having lots of initial promise.
