More on Escape to the Chateau
At the time of the controversy, a spokesperson for Channel 4 said: "Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”
More recently, the Strawbridges have addressed speculation of the chateau being sold.
In a video posted on Instagram, Angel said: “To clear this up, once and for all - we have 100% not sold the chateau.
“It is our forever home and it’s never been up for sale, it never will.
“I guess what shocked me was this rumour went worldwide, completely.”
She added: “So, this is me asking you a favour.
“If you want to start a little rumour saying that we still live at the Chateau and we’re going to be here forever, I would personally really appreciate that.”
After first quipping “it won’t get the traction, it won’t actually happen”, Dick added: “The actual selling of the Chateau is not happening.
“Anybody who knows us and who has been here and seen what’s going on, will get it.”
Throughout this month, the duo have reappeared on Channel 4 in a programme titled Secret France.
Who are Dick and Angel Strawbridge?
The TV couple shot to fame in 2016 when their series Escape to the Chateau launched on Channel 4.
Running for nine series, it followed Dick and Angel as they renovated their 19th century French mansion.
They have two children together, Arthur and Dorothy, who featured in the show
It quickly became a fan-favourite show of the schedule as millions tuned in to see the couple tackle each corner of their 45-bedroom chateau.
Escape to the Chateau came to a natural end in October 2022 by mutual agreement between Channel 4 and Dick and Angel.
Despite the broadcaster and the pair working together on other projects, they were axed from the channel following a recording leaking appearing to capture Angel in a foul-mouthed exchange with a producer.
However, the four-part series had been filmed prior to their departure and will be their very last outing with Channel 4, as The Sun understands bosses are remaining firm on their ban.
An insider said: "Dick and Angel had filmed this series before the damning recording of Angel was leaked last year.
