LOVE Island fans protested last night after Munveer and Patsy were sent packing - and are demanding a change to the show's format.

Furious viewers accused bosses of orchestrating the second dumping to get rid of the pair who had failed to spark a connection in the telly villa.

Others said the result was too predictable - after the islanders were forced to choose who should go home.

One said: "This was a set up for Patsy and Munveer .. I feel bad about this elimination. They didn't have a chance."

Another said: "Predictable outcome really. Producer's thumb always very much on the scale with these in terms of ensuring those involved in the least drama leave.

"Much the same with how Sam got dumped, but Mimii saved and given a date in an identical situation."

One more begged for a new system, writing: "They should have dumped the bottom couple then made the islanders choose who to get rid of. At this point we need a whole new rewrite."

Another echoed: "Hate hate hate that the islanders get to pick who gets dumped from the island! It’s so obvious who they’d pick. Give the viewers the vote! It would make for better TV."

Over the course of the series around 30 islanders will pass through the villa, with dumpings every week to make room for romantic connections to blossom.

Patsy had shown an interest in Munveer but her feelings hadn't been reciprocated, and he set his sights on Manchester beauty Jess.

Love Island's Samie Elishi reveals who friend Uma really likes in the villa as she admits shock at her decisions

Meanwhile, fans were annoyed that Uma was allowed to stay despite being single - however she is currently in an unresolved love triangle with Ayo and Mimii.

And other viewers were left cheering at their screens when they spotted a savage move by producers, who tasked Uma with telling Mimii that she was safe.

No couples are safe and ALL the boys could have their heads turned in Casa Amor

By Jessie Hutter

At this stage, it's easy to see how that could definitely happen.

I'd love to believe Ciaran and Nicole could be an early on love story, but I just fear that we're so early that there could be bombshells that are going to come in multiple times.

And also I just have in the back of my mind Casa Amor and only time will tell, but I don't have high hopes for Ciaran being able to stay completely committed the entire way through, no.

I think if someone was to come in new and exciting Joey's head could be turned, and the same with Ronnie.

Ronnie seems to really be enjoying having his cake and eating it at the moment. So I think an environment like Casa Amor more would probably exacerbate that.

You've got the likes of Sean, who seems like a lovely guy and hasn't found his person yet. I think he would obviously love for Casa Amor more to happen.

One reacted on social media: "Uma reading that ayo & mimi are the viewers fave is SOOO WICKED BUT NEEDED."

Another said: "The producers making Uma read out Ayo and Mimii are safe is SAVAGE!!!"

One more echoed: "The producers are evil for making uma read out that ayo and mimi are saved."

Love Island airs tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
