A source said: “Hannah is a great signing for the show.

“She’s got a huge fan base who will want to see her take on some of the biggest challenges on telly.

“She jumped at the chance to show what she’s made of.”

Hannah is set to join the likes of footballer Troy Deeney and controversially Peru Two jailbird Michaella McCollum on the sixth series later this year.

Hannah most recently appeared on Dancing on Ice after she dramatically quit the band before their big reunion tour.

However she was eliminated second after only Ricky Hatton - and soon broke down in tears backstage as she said goodbye.

Her appearance on the show comes as Hannah is embroiled in a feud with her former S Club bandmades.

She recently opened up to The Sun about how she hasn’t spoken to her former colleagues after the tragic death of Paul Cattermole saw her pull out of the tour.

The rest of the band took to stages across the UK while celebrating their 25th anniversary, but Hannah decided not to join them after the death of her bandmate and former lover Paul Cattermole.

"I’ve not spoken to any of them since I left, which is fine,” she told The Sun.

Paul Cattermole’s death changed everything… I don’t know if I’ll sing with S Club again, says Hannah Spearritt

"I was extremely excited — we all were — to get back as a seven.

"But then Paul died and everything changed. It gave me time to reflect on whether it was the right thing for me to do.

"I’m really sad we aren’t in touch. They’ve gone their way and I’ve gone mine. I wish them all the best."
