Bradley Walsh’s son Barney lands second series of huge show despite being at centre of nepotism row
BRADLEY Walsh's son has landed another hosting gig despite being criticised for only making it in TV due to 'nepotism'.
Barney previously hosted the Gladiators reboot on BBC One alongside his dad.
The duo replaced the original show hosts, Ulrika Jonsson and John Sachs, as the series made a comeback at the start of 2024.
Viewers were left unhappy with his performance, complaining that Barney was 'out of his depth' and suggesting he only got the role because of his relation to Bradley.
Now it has been revealed that the presenter will be coming back for a second season which is expected to kick off in Sheffield this August.
In an announcement made to fans interested in buying tickets to see the Gladiator games live this summer, BBC bosses told potential audience members: "Father and son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh are back and will once again host this incredible, massive event television series!

"Witness the mighty Gladiators and join the all-important arena crowd, cheering for your favourite in one of the most exciting and energetic sports TV shows ever!"
The 26-year-old shared his excitement for the new gig before season one started, telling the Sun: "Gladiators is just me and dad on screen doing our thing, because we're friends first and foremost.
"It's like with Breaking Dad, we're just there having a bit of banter and a bit of fun, we're just hanging out with some presenting between.
"Now we're counting down to the first episode, I'm feeling so passionate about bringing this show back to life and to new audiences and to showcasing something spectacular."
However, many took to social media criticizing the decision to invite him on.
One person hit out: "This presenter is an outstanding example of nepotism. How do they get away with this? The only thing that puts me off this show."
Another fumed: "I’m sick of seeing Bradley Walsh presenting everything. He is presenting Gladiators with his son!! How did his son coincidentally get this gig with his dad? I smell nepotism… change the presenters immediately and have a woman too… ridiculous."
