‘I don’t want to leave it much longer’ says A Place in the Sun star as they reveal life-changing plans

The presenter joined the Channel 4 show's line-up two years ago

A PLACE in The Sun star Craig Rowe has revealed he doesn’t ‘want to leave it too much longer’ before taking the plunge on life-changing plans.

Craig, 51, joined the Channel 4 series in 2022 and now helps British couples in their search for new homes in warm destinations.

Having previously lived “all over the place”, in countries including France, Germany, Spain and Italy, the presenter is no stranger to finding the perfect home overseas.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun Online, Craig shared that he and his partner Paul are looking ahead to their own house-hunting in a sunny location.

He revealed: “Both my partner and I, we sort of agreed on a vague kind of timeline.

“We’ve sort of been thinking about different areas in Spain, even though I speak French and I’ve lived in France for many years. To my friends and family, that would be a natural place to move to.

“I love France, but actually my partner doesn’t know France and I also love Spain, so we’ve decided Spain would be the place.

“I think it’s going to be Valencia, because I love Valencia as a city. I love the region of Valencia.”

Discussing a potential timeline, he said: “So, I think over the next year to two years, we’d like to think about how we can merge finances and change things a little bit in the UK - buy a holiday home.

“Certainly in the next five years, I’d like to think about being based there and obviously coming back and forth to the UK, but being based more in Spain.”

“That’s definitely on the horizon and it’s actually really funny how many times I’m showing people around properties and I think, ‘Oh, I could buy that, this is great.”

Craig added: “I think I always thought I’d move to France or Spain in my 60s, but now I’m thinking, now, it has to be early to mid 50s - I’m 51.

“I don’t want to leave it too much longer - the quality of life is so good over there.”

Meanwhile, Craig, who said his own background living abroad has "made him quite resilient", shared how this context helps him advise house-hunters in A Place in the Sun.

He explained: "I’d like to think because I’ve lived overseas, lived in different countries, speak different languages and have a good understanding of the property mechanics overseas that I can give them good advice.

"But, I can also still help them be excited about a dream."
