The Responder fans thrilled by ‘Brookside reunion’ as stars return to screens together for BBC thriller

THE Responder fans have been left delighted as a 'Brookside reunion' aired during the latest episode.
Fans of the gritty police drama, which is set in Liverpool and stars Martin Freeman, got stuck into the third episode.
Viewers watched as Martin's character Chris Carson was on the hunt for an individual named Vernon.
As he searched a house, he stumbled across two women called Nora and Madge who tried to hide Vernon from the burnt out copper.
Chris eventually found the criminal and dragged him out of the house in dramatic scenes.
However, viewers were more focused on the two women as they realised they were Brookside stars Sheila Grant and Jackie Corkhill.
Flooding social media with comments, one fan tweeted: "Corkhills & Grants? Is this Brookside? What next, Sinbad in the CID? #TheResponder."
"A second wrote: "I swear Sue Johnston has looked EXACTLY the same for at least 30 years. #TheResponder."
"3 Brookside characters. Cool. #Theresponder," said a third.
While a fourth commented: "The Responder has just become full on brookside 2024 #TheResponder."
Meanwhile, Beeb viewers were recently left scratching their heads as they compared The Responder to the broadcaster's other crime show Blue Lights.
