EUROVISION fans felt cheated by the song contest after the hosts tricked them into thinking Abba would perform.

Taking place in the band's home country, there were high hopes that they were going to make a surprise appearance.

Whilst the band have consistently refused to reunite, some fans have never given up hope.

In tonight's Eurovision finals Petra Mede and Malin Akerman dropped huge hints that a Swedish band would be taking to the stage.

But in a cruel twist, they announced that Alcazar would be performing instead, and fans were not amused.

"Not me thinking ABBA were gonna perform #Eurovision", one wrote.

Alcazar performed their hit Crying At The Discotheque, which was originally released in 2000.

Despite their success in the charts, the disco-pop group - made up of Andreas Lundstedt, Lina Hedlund and Tess Merkel - have never made it into the contest.

But it isn't for a lack of trying - as the trio competed five times in 'Melodifestivalen', the Swedish pre-selection process for Eurovision,

They might not have been there in the flesh, the band's holograms also known as 'ABBA-tars' stood in and performed Waterloo.
