BGT fans left fuming as huge schedule shake-up means show goes missing during Eurovision

Eurovision usually gets a lot more viewers than BGT

BRITIAN’S Got Talent fans were left furious this evening as the show was axed in order to avoid a ratings nightmare.

The talent show usually airs on Saturday evening’s, but will be on Sunday this week so it doesn’t clashed with Eurovision – despite them being on different channels.

The news hasn’t gone down well with viewers who took to X to complain.

“So no #BGT or #1%Club some Saturday TV this is @ITV,” wrote one.

A second said: “It disgusting and not fair #BGT IS Saturday night viewing now got to wait till tomorrow.”

While a third added: “I’ve got to say I’m p*****d off that ITV have taken off BGT and the 1% Club tonight and replaced it with a BOND FILM Casino Royale sort your s**t OUT ITV #BGT #.”

Meanwhile some BBC fans are also unhappy because there is no Casualty this evening.

Eurovision traditionally pulls in more viewers that BGT and every year 180 million fans tune in world wide to watch it.

TV chat show host Graham Norton kicked off the annual song contest tonight and said "it's been quite an eventful Eurovision this year".

This year the annual music contest is taking place in Malmo Arena after Swedish singer Loreen won the competition last year with her song Tattoo.

As the competition began, Graham, 61, who is the commentator for the coverage on BBC One said: "It's been quite an eventful Eurovision this year, but hopefully tonight we will bring you the usual beauty, mayhem, madness and of course, male nudity."

This year protestors have called for a boycott of Eurovison over Israel's inclusion in the contest amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

As well as this the Netherlands entry Joost Klein was disqualified from the final for what a Dutch radio and television broadcaster called a "threating movement" from the singer towards a camerawoman.

The UK's entry for the contest, Years And Years singer Olly Alexander performed to loud cheers, but those watching at home felt there was issues with his sound.
