BABY Reindeer star and creator Richard Gadd was reportedly quizzed by show bosses over dates with a trans actress who auditioned to play his ex.
claims the 34-year-old faced questions about their relationship in a professional conduct investigation.
Reece Lyons - who was interested in playing Richard's ex-girlfriend Teri in the stalker drama - exposed her experience on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Richard was investigated and cleared of any wrongdoing by Baby Reindeer producer Clerkenwell Films after the romance.
He met Reece met in October 2021 after she had performed the one-woman show Overflow.
Richard is said to have discussed a potential role for her in Baby Reindeer over drinks.
In the post - which did not name the actor - Reece said: “I told him I was interested in auditioning and asked him to get in touch with my agent.”
They went on four dates between October and November 2021, before Gadd ended the relationship in December.
Sources claim Richard did not deny conversations about a potential audition while they were dating.
Reece alleges she felt fearful of ending things between them in case it damaged her chances of securing a role.
She sent in a self-tape audition to Nina Gold Casting in March 2022 - three months after he ended the relationship.
Deadline reports he gave feedback to Clerkenwell Films on audition tapes, but did not have final approval on Baby Reindeer casting.
Actress Nava Mau went on to land the role of Richard's ex.
Reece insists she was not a victim of abuse, but was left "hurt" by Richard “conflating a work opportunity with a dating dynamic.”
She was not interviewed by Clerkenwell Films during the investigation, which concluded that Richard had acted appropriately.
