COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr has been slammed as ‘rude’ by This Morning viewers after appearing as a guest on the show and joining in with chef Clodagh McKenna’s cooking segment.

Jimmy, 48, joined hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary as they were shown how to make various chicken dishes by Irish chef , 48.

The comedian questioned the way Irish chef Clodagh pronounced the word ‘thyme’

But funnyman Jimmy infuriated viewers while the cooking got under way as he made “rude” comments to the chef.

As he joined Alison and Dermot, he could be heard questioning the way Clodagh pronounced the word thyme.

She said: “No, I never mentioned thyme,” in reference to the herb.

He then said: “I need a pen, you’re really racing through this.”

Jimmy continued: “What about chicken one way?” as Clodagh explained how to make chicken three ways.

As the chef finished one of her dishes, Jimmy said: “You could make that even nicer by leaving out the broccoli,” while appearing unimpressed by the food in front of him.

Taken aback by Jimmy’s comments, one viewer said online: “Why is Jimmy being so rude?”

Another wrote: “Jimmy makes everything about him. He isn’t funny and is trashing a segment that is actually interesting.”

A third person said: “Clodagh and Jimmy are just glaring at each other.”

Another penned: “This cooking segment is dreadful. If I was Clodagh I’d refuse to do it.”

A fourth wrote: “How flipping rude I’d walk off after chucking the chicken at them all!!”

And someone else penned: “He should be kicked off after that.”

Many viewers praised Clodagh for continuing with her segment, and “keeping her cool.”

One viewer added: “Fair play Clodagh for keeping your segment going, honestly I mean that Carr was totally rude interrupting and trying to be funny! Clodagh you was brilliant there.”

Clodagh regularly presents her own cooking segment on This Morning and she has been a part of the show for years.

The food guru is close pals with former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, with the pair often meeting up.

Jimmy appeared on the show to discuss his new Netflix special Natural Born Killer, which launched on April 16.

Discussing the controversial show, he said: “It’s just jokes. If you like that kind of thing you’ll like it.”
