Brenda Blethyn, who has played Vera since 2011, confirmed the show would be ending.
She spoke about how “hard” she will find walking away from the role, writing on X: “Many thanks to everyone for your good wishes. so very much appreciated.
"Getting ready to start filming Series 14 of Vera next week, gonna be hard saying farewell."
