But accounts show the Scottish performer has already netted his first million.

His personal firm, RRSG Ltd, has just over £1 million in assets, which includes £819,959 “cash in the bank”.

The 34-year-old - who turns 35 next week - had a great 2023, as his profits more than quadrupled from the previous year.

The company is now £836,233 in profit, compared to £178,344 in 2022.

Baby Reindeer began as a comedy show in 2019 but wasn’t picked up by Netflix until 2023 - a commission that is likely behind the largest uplift in Gadd’s finances.

Before the hit shot him to worldwide fame, he worked as a writer on Netflix’s Sex Education.

In a further mysterious twist, Companies House records also show Richard is registered under a second name, Dr Robert Stephenson.

There are, however, no official records of him changing his name.

He first appears as Richard Gadd on the government’s business records in 2014, when he was noted as company director of a now dissolved firm called Little Monkeys Productions Limited.

Richard has been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2013, with shows including Breaking Gadd and Waiting for Gaddot.

His 2016 effort, Monkey See Monkey Do won an award and went on to become a sell-out across the UK then was broadcast on Comedy Central.

That first taste of real fame then spiralled when he premiered Baby Reindeer at Edinburgh in 2019.

It won a string of awards, transferred to London’s West End and then bagged a prestigious Olivier gong.

The finance docs suggest that even before the show was picked up by Netflix, he was quietly amassing a fortune.

Shrewd Richard invested his money wisely and purchased a flat in trendy Finsbury Park in 2020.
