Coronation Street star gives birth to her first baby – three years after finding love again after tough split
CORONATION Street star Sair Khan has given birth to her first child.
The star has played Alya Nazir in the ITV soap since 2014 and she revealed her pregnancy in December.
Announcing the news tonight on Instagram, she wrote: "He’s here!
"Okay, when I said ‘Spring awakening’ in my last post I didn’t mean ‘keep’ me awake. The new parent zombie look is definitely a thing isn’t it.
"More importantly our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour. We didn’t quite get the birth i’d hoped for but that’s okay (two birth pools, no water birth)."
Sair called the labour "raw and primal" and has found the baby's first days a steep learning curve.

She continued: "Somehow we’re off the starting blocks and I’m so unbelievably grateful for our healthy baby, for Nathan and the for the incredible support network around us for their patience, generosity and late night voice notes that have kept me going. Anyone else ever felt like there’s a DJ beat coming from your breast pump at 3am or is that what delirium is?!"
Helen Flanagan congratulated the star as did Shobna Gulati, Charlie Condou and Amy Walsh.
The actress had hoped for a home birth and showed off her birthing pool on Instagram earlier in April.
Sair found love again in 2021 two years after her heartbreaking split, when she started dating chiropractor Nathan.
She broke up with fellow soap star Simon Lennon in 2019 months after she appeared in I'm A Celebrity.
A source said at the time: "They've been dating since late last year after meeting through a mutual friend.
"Things have been going really well and it's no secret that they're head over heels for each other. Everyone's hoping she's found The One."
Sair had appeared in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2018 and had starred on Channel 4’s Sink Or Swim.
The actress has had a number of hardhitting storylines over the years - including being shot and was the victim of a far-right extremists plot.
Health struggle
Sair revealed in December she felt a "real mix of emotions" after discovering she was pregnant amid her partner Nathan Chilton's health struggles.
In 2022 he had an operation remove a benign bone tumour in his pelvis.
She shared: "Hello… It’s been a little while since posting on here which has been a real mix of emotions.
"With all that is happening in the world it didn’t feel like the right time to share but we also know it’s okay to keep hope and pray for peace whilst acknowledging that we feel blessed and grateful."
The brave chiropractor documented his condition on YouTube and revealed he was fitted with a bespoke titanium implant.
Speaking from his hospital bed, he said in 2022: "Second physio session of the day.

"I managed to sit up on the edge of the bed, transfer myself to the commode, get up from the commode with a zimmer frame and walk three steps."
Sair said at the time: "I'm so proud of him for being so open and vulnerable in the hope that others won't feel so alone."
