Britain’s Got Talent has given some of the nation's most talented people their time to shine.

From the operatic Susan Boyle to the Diversity dance crew, the programme has showcased the best of the best over 16 seasons.

But it’s not always all sunshine and roses - and when you’re up against the likes of Simon Cowell it can be hard to reign in your temper.

There have been several competitors over the years who have turned nasty when their BGT auditions didn't go to plan - and it’s not always just the judges who cop the bad attitude.

From yelling at the audience to infighting amongst the stars, there’s always a bit of drama to sink your teeth into.

Singing Souls, 2009

Three teens took their dream of outselling the Spice Girls to the BGT stage in 2009.

Louise, Tasha and Hannah called themselves the Singing Souls but were immediately off to a bad start when judge Simon misheard their name as the “singing trolls”.

Hannah - the most confrontational one of the group - did not see the funny side and told Simon: “Do not make me come down there.”

Amid a sea of boos from the audience, the girls began to blast out Evanescence smash hit Taking Over Me but their out-of-tune vocals had the judges reaching for their buzzers.

Simon told the act their performance was “one of the worst” he’d ever heard in his life.

Hannah retorted: “You wanna come up here and sing Simon? Because I’d like to see you face that lot!”

Then she told judge Amanda Holden to “bite me”.

Simon ended the audition by telling them they sounded like “three cats being dragged up the motorway”.

Unsurprisingly, the Singing Souls did not make it to the next round but they did go down in reality TV history as the “gobbiest” girls on set.

His dream was to become a famous dancer to rival the likes of Justin Timberlake.

Sadly for David, that dream was dashed when he started cutting shapes to Cascada’s How Do You Do.

When all three judges pushed their buttons to end his dancing, David’s reaction was spikier than his barnet.

Harsh Simon started off the negative feedback by telling him he was “completely and utterly useless”.

Upset, David ran from the stage while yelling at the judges and the audience to “f*** off”.

He pushed past hosts Ant and Dec and had a little cry backstage.

After calming down David told Ant and Dec how he regretted losing his temper and asked to go back on stage so he could apologise to the judges and the audience.

But his apology quickly went south when he didn’t get the reaction he wanted from the judges and he burst into another foul-mouth tirade.

Needless to say, he didn’t make it through to the next stage.

She may look sweet, but things turned sour when the judges sent her packing before the BGT semi-finals.

Even though the singer wowed the judges and had them dancing on tables with her performance of Don’t Rain On My Parade, it failed to earn her a spot in the subsequent round.

After a unanimous no from the judges, she stormed off stage to be consoled by hosts Ant and Dec.

Fuming, she threw her feather shawl on the ground and jokingly ranted: “The f***ers haven’t put me through!” Awks.

Susan Boyle, 2009

The Scottish singer shocked guests at a plush hotel in London by bursting into a jealous rage during a BGT semi-final.

The church-going 63-year-old year old became furious when her favourite judge, Piers Morgan, complimented fellow contestant Shaheen Jafargholi instead of her.

As Piers declared the Welsh schoolboy's act as "the finest singing performance we have witnessed in the semi-finals thus far," Susan - who admitted she had a crush on Piers - stuck two fingers up at the telly and shouted “f***off”.

Fuming, she reportedly stormed off to her room at the Wembley Plaza Hotel and stayed there in a strop for the rest of the evening.

Around 150 guests were said to have witnessed the commotion.

One onlooker was reported to say: “Everyone was stunned by her reaction.”

Donald Bell-Gam, 2008

He got off to a bad start when he told the judges he was only auditioning to entertain himself - but he ended up entertaining the audience with his “horrific” singing.

He had barely broken into his warbling rendition of Amy Winehouse’s classic Valerie and the judges hit all three buzzers.

As the judges begged him to stop, he continued to try his luck with two equally challenging songs - I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston and Leona Lewis’s Bleeding Love.

The judges' ears were bleeding by the end and although they were less than impressed with his singing, the audience were lapping it up.

“I can honestly tell you by a clear mile you’re the worst singer we’ve ever had on BGT, completely and utterly horrific,” quipped Simon.

“The thing about you is you’re so bad you’re brilliant,” said Piers Morgan. “You were horrifically entertaining.”

But despite Piers' stellar review, Donald did not make it past the audition process.

We are used to seeing acts furiously storming off the stage but sometimes the judges get a little hot-headed too.

After an unusual performance to whistling music by the dance troupe Pop’arazzi Crew in 2013, two of the judges walked off set.

It followed Simon pretending to fall asleep and snore while Alesha Dixon praised the group as “really interesting” and featuring “things I’ve not seen before”.

Amanda snapped: “You know what Simon? In mine and Alesha’s opinion, this is unique, intelligent and imaginative. We’ve never seen anything like it and I don’t know why you’re snoring.”

Simon dismissively responded: “What’s the matter with you two? You’re getting really bolshy.”

When the BGT boss and David didn’t put the act through, Alisha said they were “unbelievable” and Amanda added: “Such a mistake. I think we’ve had enough of the boys.”

After Simon quipped the judges had “had enough of each other”, Amanda agreed and  grabbed Alesha by the hand before the pair stormed off-stage.

“I’m so angry,” Amanda said while getting her make-up reapplied. Alesha felt David needed to “grow some balls” and not just vote in agreement with Simon.

Instead of losing his temper over an act inspired by the Disney musical Frozen, it may have been better for Simon to Let It Go.

The BGT boss couldn't believe his eyes when his fellow judges planned to put through a husband and wife duo back in 2019.

Simon groaned, stared in disbelief and pulled painful expressions as Katherine sang Frozen's Let It Go while her hubby Joe performed an overzealous tap routine.

When Amanda claimed it was "my favourite thing of the whole day", Simon responded: "I'm not being rude... but what the bloody hell was that."

As he continued to complain the boos from the audience grew louder, before Amanda added: "Simon has been saying the most important thing about Britain’s Got Talent is listening to our audience… this is your public, Simon."

After mouthing "No" twice, Simon stood up and angrily spun his chair around before walking off.

"You know what, I'm going to leave you to it," he said only to find the audience now laughing at him and booing even more loudly.

After David and Amanda put them through to the next round, she added: "The public voted you in and the public are never wrong."
