DAN Walker laughed about a return to BBC Breakfast in an apparent swipe at his former employer.

The 47-year-old answered a Q&A with fans as he gave updates on when he'd be back on telly with Helen Skelton and how his latest venture away from TV is going.

A fan asked Dan on Instagram: "Do you miss BBC Breakfast and would you ever go back?"

He replied with a picture of him holding the Strictly glitterball trophy with former BBC colleague Sally Nugent.

Dan wrote: "I miss my friends but... No."

However, he found himself the centre of a multi-pronged complaint recently.

Network bosses brought in investigators over the work place probe into serious conduct allegations.

Presenter Dan - who is believed to be paid £500,000 a year - was “completely exonerated”.

The Channel 5 news anchor continues to be on telly - but revealed his latest gig away from the small screen.

Dan, 47 revealed he is now a co-owner of a café, saying: “You know I go on about cake a lot?

"Well… I am officially now the part-owner of a cafe!!! It’s something my wife and I have been thinking about for a while and an opportunity came up just down the road from our house in Sheffield at a place we love, right at the heart of the community.

The journalist told his followers that he and his wife have been eyeing this opportunity for a while.

He added that he has now decided to take the plunge with a café in Sheffield that's close to their hearts
