DANNY Dyer has opened up on his troubled childhood during a candid chat with his daughter Dani.
The former EastEnders star, 46, presented the final episode of his Channel 4 series How To Be A Man.
During the episode viewers watched as the hard man spoke about his own childhood to his Love Island daughter Dani.
The 27-year-old revealed how Danny is an emotional father, letting slip that he once cried to a Miley Cyrus song.
But as she asked about her grandad - Danny's father Antony - he revealed: "The way he was parented, he used to get shut in his room with no dinner and he used to have to hide biscuits and his dad used to beat him a lot.
"He was bought up in the 50s and 60s."

Danny continued: "I remember when he told me I wasn't allowed to hold his hand anymore.
"It was a weird thing for me because I held my hand out and he blanked my hand.
"I've got a lot of traumatic experiences as a kid but that one f***ing killed me.
"He had said to me 'no we don't do that anymore boy' and I accepted that and thought 'oh okay' but I've not carried that on with my own children."

As the episode continued Danny went on to meet Zoe Ball and Fatboy Slim's son Woody Cook.
The actor also sat down with stay-at-home dads and spoke to a sex therapist.
Danny was recently left shocked after discovering his nine-year-old son likes Andrew Tate.
He explained: “My little boy who’s nine, he's really smart, but he's got a phone now. So the other day his mum said to me, ‘Oh, you know, he likes Andrew Tate’, and I went, ‘What?’ So I went, ‘You like Andrew Tate?’ He went, ‘Yeah, that is a top G’.
“And I went, ‘Right, OK. But, you know he says really f**king stupid things?’ And he went, ‘Yeah, but he's still a top G’."
