LOVE Island winner Sammy Root has broken his silence on ex Jess Harding's new man - and why the pair "don't ever talk."
The ITV2 matchmaking show stars broke up just three months after winning Love Island's 2023 series.
As well as revealing she has a new boyfriend on social media, salon owner Jess, 23, has taken an apparent public swipe at Sammy addressing "learning a few lessons" during a previous relationship.
Now Sammy, also 23, has exclusively opened up to The Sun about the current state of play.
After he was quizzed about speaking to Jess, he told us: "Don't get me wrong, if I saw her I'd probably say hello but out of respect I'm not going to be talking to her when she's got a boyfriend.
"I haven't got a reason to.

"We don't ever talk but I wish her the best."
Jess told Sammy their relationship was over by phone - before news of their split leaked online while she was partying in Ibiza with pals last year.
Moving on
Jess revealed she had a new boyfriend last month - and has now gushed how she is "so in love."
She then showcased his identity on Instagram with a sweet snap showing him kissing her.

Meanwhile, Sammy opened up to us on his love life of late.
He told us: "I wouldn't have gone this far without dating a couple, but at the same time, I feel like this year I'm very fortunate to be given this chance in this situation this year so rather than spend it chasing girls I'd rather make the most out of it and make the biggest impact I can.
'I'm trying to focus on myself and do my own thing, but there is obviously a girl here and there that I speak to."
New gig
It came shortly after Sammy revealed his brand new career.
His new role is worlds away from reality TV.
Sammy has started his own events planning business.
He exclusively told us: "I've teamed up with one of my friends and I'm starting an event, a house and RnB event.
"We should have our first event in Essex somewhere at the end of June, we haven't released a date yet but I'm excited for that."
