Amazon in crisis talks over Prince Andrew blockbuster as Netflix’s Scoop receives praise six months before release
AMAZON is in crisis talks over its Prince Andrew blockbuster after streaming rivals Netflix won plaudits for its version.
Three-part series A Very Royal Scandal is not due to air until October — six months after Scoop, released on April 5.
And bosses are looking desperately for ideas to drum up interest.
An insider said: “Amazon’s in crisis talks.
"They spent a lot of money and are really worried that when it comes out, the public will think, ‘We’ve watched this,’ and it’ll flop.”
A Very Royal Scandal covers Emily Maitlis’s Newsnight interview of Prince Andrew from the perspective of the former BBC journalist.

One idea includes getting Maitlis — who is a producer of the show — grilling actress Ruth Wilson, who plays her.
The Sun previously revealed photos of co-star Michael Sheen as Andrew.
The insider added: “Getting Scoop out first was the best thing.
"Amazon feels like it’s already lost the battle with Netflix.”
