GARETH Gates was all smiles as he posed for a snap with his rarely-seen daughter, Missy, wishing her a happy 15th birthday.

The star has previously talked about keeping his daughter out of the limelight, but today he couldn't help but share a birthday snap.

The singer took to Instagram wearing a black t-shirt, while Missy sported a cream-colored jumper and a knitted scarf.

Gareth captioned the wholesome snap: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful little lady @missygates_x.

"Daddy loves you more than the world."

Gareth shares Missy with ex-wife Suzanne Mole, and is very careful with what he posts about Missy, after saying he wants her to grow up away from the spotlight.

More on Gareth Gates

The former couple were together for ten years but split in 2011.

When they broke up he said in a statement: "Despite our efforts over the past three years to make our marriage work, sadly Suzanne and I have decided to separate.

"Whilst we have grown apart, we love and cherish our wonderful daughter Missy and together we will prioritise her happy upbringing."

Last November, Gareth won Celebrity SAS Who Dares Wins after beating politician Matt Hancock.

Gareth has since admitted he needed five weeks of therapy to get over his experience on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

“I had to have quite a bit of therapy afterwards and the show is great for that," Gareth told the Mirror.

"When you come out, you’re checked over and I had about five weeks worth of counselling and therapy because it really, really did affect me."

Gareth also said that the show helped him battle his speech impediment - and discovered that expletive-ridden rants are the key to speaking fluently.

He told us: “Somebody had to take control because I was like, ‘I’m not losing this challenge’.

"I was screaming and out of nowhere I went from this stammering wreck to actually having a voice.

“Who knew shouting at people makes my stammer go away?”
