A FORMER Peter Kay's Car Share star has updated fans about the future of the hit comedy series.
Since the show was cancelled five years ago fans of the BBC programme have hoped that it would get renewed.
Now Sian Gibson, who played the role of Kayleigh in Peter Kay's Car Share, has discussed whether Peter and the cast will return to the beloved show.
The 47-year-old confirmed that it was unlikely that fans would be getting any more Car Share as creator and co-star Peter is on tour.
Speaking on whether Peter Kay's Car Share will be hitting screens again Sian revealed to OK!: "I don't think so.
"I mean, Peter's doing a record-breaking UK tour is very busy for the next couple of years. He's doing his amazing stand-up."

Sian’s next big TV gig is starring in BBC Two’s upcoming comedy Mammoth as Mel, a disgruntled mum to one of happy-go-lucky PE (physical education) teacher Tony Mammoth's students.
Creator of the series Mike Bubbins will be playing the role of Tony Mammoth.
The new show follows Tony Mammoth, a PE teacher from the seventies who dies in an avalanche on a ski school trip before being brought back to life in modern-day Cardiff and returning to his job.
Previously Mike admitted that Peter was the person who inspired him to pursue comedy after being a PE teacher for numerous years.

He revealed: "He's genuinely the reason I started doing stand-up.
"I sat down with my sister to watch Live at the Top of the Tower with Peter Kay and we're all laughing. I thought, 'I'd love that. I'd love to do that.'
"So I thought about it for a little while and then said to my wife, 'I'd love to give comedy a go properly,' so she said, 'Well, let's get the mortgage first, let's move into the house and get the mortgage set up because you'll be struggling [when you do comedy].'"
"There’s one scene where Mammoth referees a football match from his car – that was inspired by somebody on a radio phone-in.
“I was driving back from a gig and heard some fellow talking about his teacher, who hated football so refereed a match from the halfway line in his car."
The remaining cast of Mammouth have yet to be released.
Mammoth airs April 17 at 10pm on BBC Two.
