The bullying and torment became so bad that Liam (Charlie Wrenshall) contemplated taking his own life.

Thankfully, his loved ones were able to support him in his hour of need and this week, the time came for Mason to face judgement in court.

His conviction relied on the testimonies of Liam and school pal Dylan Wilson, who was cajoled into bullying him too by Mason, as well as helping to conceal the knife.

While Dylan shared the truth about seeing Mason with the knife in his written testimony, he was threatened to lie in court by Mason in the days leading up to the proceedings, before sending one of his pals round again in tonight's episode.

The threats against him and his family were too much for Dylan and he lied to the judge when asked by the defence lawyer if he had seen Mason with the knife.

But after Liam left the court room upset by his friend's betrayal, and some encouragement from the prosecuting lawyer to tell the truth under oath, Dylan overcame his fears and confirmed what really happened.

The families of both teens were relieved and further elation came when the judge revealed Mason had been found guilty.

She added: "In part, I have arrived at this verdict due to your unwillingness to give testimony in your own defence.

"But I couldn't have come to my decision without the entirely credible witness statements we have heard today.

"I will adjourn your sentencing for one week to hear from your youth justice worker, however, this is your second knife crime offence, I warn you that as a matter of law, the only sentence available to me is a sentence of imprisonment."
