"And Ali and I would definitely prefer to do that.”

She added to the publication: "It’s funny as leap day fell on the day before I was filming my Emmerdale wedding.

Natalie's character is set to be part of the soap’s first transgender wedding.

Trans Matty, who is played by Ash Palmisciano, 34. proposed to Amy last year.

A source told us: “The plot marks a sign of the times.

“But the wedding won’t come without drama as some are determined their bigotry overshadows the couple’s big day.”

This week viewers of the soap will see Amy's mum Kerry Wyatt take drastic measures to make her contribution to the wedding.

Kerry recently returned to the Dales after she was accused of stealing on the cruise ship.

The former chef impersonator has denied the accusations, but does have money and jewellery secretly stashed away.

It looks like Kerry will have to sell her diamond necklace to involve herself in the wedding.
