NETFLIX is splashing out £10million to bag big-name stars for new reality show Bear Hunt.
Bosses hope the huge war chest will ensure the line-up is stronger than rival contests.
Survival expert Bear Grylls, 49, and host Holly Willoughby, 43, will each be paid almost £1million for their work.
And there is more cash to come to land famous faces hoping to out-run “hunter” Bear in the Costa Rican jungle.
Those caught will be out of the contest.
The cast are due to fly to Central America this month and a TV insider said: “On similar celebrity-led challenge shows like Strictly and I’m a Celeb, the line-ups often vary from little-known people to established stars.

“Netflix are determined their collection will be largely killer, with very little filler. They’re not scrimping on paying six-figure fees and aren’t afraid to cough up more for the biggest names.
“They’ll be shelling out an eight-figure sum in all, so the cast will be one of the most expensive in reality TV history.”
Only British stars will feature, but Netflix is looking at doing versions elsewhere on the back of Bear’s international appeal.
The show will be filmed in May but is not expected to air until early 2025.
