LOVE Island's Alex George has been forced to return to hospital for a second time in three days.

The 33-year-old medic rushed back to A&E after he was forced to seek help for "tonsillitis with fevers" over the Easter weekend.

Updating fans on his worrying health condition, Dr Alex wrote: "Spirit feels a bit broken writing this but sadly I had to come back to A&E this morning, throat was swelling up and getting worse.

"Breathing is ok but thats always the big worry. Really want to be positive but I haven’t slept in a week, hardly eaten with pain and fevers.

"I know there are so many worse off than me and I am doing my best to be grateful and positive but yeh, can’t always be I guess.

"The doctors and nurses have been so kind and caring, thank you. Just got to roll with punches now and I will be better soon.

"Thank you so much for the love and support, Alex x."

The ITV2 matchmaking show star, 33, shared a series of snaps taken from London's St Thomas' Hospital.

He said the health emergency brought back uncomfortable memories for Love Island OG Dr Alex, who was treated at the same facility for life-threatening sepsis - which left him bed-bound for days.

Telling fans what happened at the weekend, Dr Alex wrote on Instagram: "Kind of weird for me coming back to St Thomas Hospital, as a few years ago I nearly died of sepsis.

"If it were not for the incredible care of the doctors and nurses I wouldn’t be here.

"There is a deep humbling that happens when you feel so unwell that you need to ask someone, “please can you help me?”.

"In asking that question you are submitting yourself and allowing others to intervene and help you, when you can’t help yourself further.

"I had this same feeling, probably to a greater extent, when I had sepsis.

"A realisation of, what would I do if you weren’t here to help me right now? Like really, what would I do?"
