ACTOR Rufus Sewell used a botty double to play Prince Andrew in new film Scoop — revealing he wore a huge false bum for a nude scene.

He needed the prosthetic backside to portray the disgraced royal because his own bottom was not fat enough.

The Duke of York is shown flashing his rump as he climbs out of the bath in the Netflix drama.

Released this Friday, it tells the story of Andrew’s disastrous 2019 BBC Newsnight interview about his relationship with late US sex monster Jeffrey Epstein.

Gym regular Rufus, 56, was keen to make clear the decision for him to use the fake rear was nothing to do with him being prudish about showing off his own butt.

The Brit star said: “It’s not that I’m ashamed of my own. I get it out whenever I get the chance — but this bum was specially shipped in.”

Talking to the Radio Times, Rufus spoke of being transformed by the creative team for the role, including the fat-suit to replicate the prince’s posterior and torso.

It also involved hours of make-up and other prosthetics which added layers of wrinkles and fat to his cheeks, forehead and even eyelids.

In the interview scenes with Emily Maitlis, played by Gillian Anderson, 55, he had to perfect the distinctive “Windsor clenched jaw” which helped him nail the royal’s voice.

Rufus said: “Andrew actually has this blokey quality. If you listen to him, as opposed to King Charles, he has a lad’s lad quality.

“He’s Randy Andy who chats up the working girls when he visits the factory.”

Rufus, best known for playing swarthy cads in films including The Holiday and TV show Victoria, recalled: “I did say: ‘What’s your plan for the physicality of it?’

“Ever since I left drama school and did my first few roles, I’ve always wanted to get back to roles that allowed me to transform.”
