The BBC One drama was set in Northern Ireland and stars Victoria Smurfitt alongside Cold Feet star James.

James played DCI Tom Branick in the show alongside Victoria as Olivia Foyle.

However, The Sun understands drama has came to an end after two series with Beeb execs quietly axing the show.

Bloodlands star Charlene McKenna previously cast doubt on the show's future.

She told the Belfast Telegraph: “I want a series three so much, but, no, I don’t think so.

“Bloodlands may have reached its natural conclusion with James Nesbitt’s character, DCI Tom Brannick, being revealed as serial killer Goliath, but I really wanted one more season for him to finally get his comeuppance and for me to be the one to serve it to him.”

Series two of Bloodlands aired back in autumn 2022 and both seasons are still available to watch on iPlayer.

The show also starred The Bill's Lorcan Cranitch, The Young Offenders favourite Chris Walley and newcomer Lola Petticrew.

Meanwhile, bosses at the broadcaster have also called time on Motherland as a leading star confirmed the news.

The hit BBC comedy was all about the trials and traumas of middle-class mums.

Viewers watched as they navigated the competitive and chaotic sides of being a parent– rather than any "front" a mum puts on in public.
