Vera boss issues major update to fans of ITV drama after series 13 cast shake up
Brenda Blethyn will share the screen with Guardians Of The Galaxy alum Karen Gillan in the period comedy Fools
A VERA boss has issued a major update to fans of the ITV drama after news of a series 13 cast shake up.
This comes after DS Aiden Healy (played by Kenny Doughty) left in series 13 and DS Joe Ashworth, played by David Leon, returned.

Now Vera author, Ann Cleeves has revealed some exciting news about the famous detective show.
Just before Brenda Blethyn and the cast kick off filming for the new series, Ann has unveiled a new book is in the works.
The author shared the name and cover of her upcoming publication to at The Royal Television Society Awards.
She also revealed that filming for series 14 of Vera will begin soon.

Ann created Brenda's well-known character DCI Stanhope.
Her books led to the creation of the popular ITV show, which premiered in 2011 and became a big hit.
The new book is titled The Dark Wives and it can be pre-ordered now.
A description for the book on Amazon, reads: "A man’s body is found in the early morning light by a local dog walker on the common outside Rosebank, a care home for trouble teens.

"The victim is Josh, a staff member, who was due to work the previous night but never showed up.
"DI Vera Stanhope is called out to investigate the death. Her only clue is the disappearance of one of the home’s residents, fourteen-year-old Chloe Spence.
Along with the exciting news that series 14 of Vera will be filming later this year, ITV confirmed that the new series will consist of two episodes which are expected on screens early next year.
Brenda's part in the new comedy Fools raised worries that filming for Vera might be delayed.
However, no filming schedule for the movie has been announced, so it is looking like it will happen after Vera.
Fools is a period comedy about Mary Tutor, who will be played by Guardians of the Galaxy alum Karen Gillan.
The film focuses on the 16th-century English Queen and depicts the little-known story of her friendship with her female court jester Jane (Patsy Ferran).
Brenda, 77, has played DCI Vera Stanhope in the ITV detective drama since 2011.
In February, Vera fans were left stunned as Brenda unveiled a new job world's away from the ITV drama.
The beloved star had been spotted as she officially opened a charity shop.

Brenda revealed she was invited to open the Shooting Stars store in Surrey and gladly accepted.
Writing on social media at the time, she revealed: "So proud to have opened "Shooting Stars" Charity Shop in High St Godalming today.
