MORE than two decades ago, a group of brave beach lifeguards changed the television landscape with their acts of heroism.
And lots of slow motion running.
After nearly 25 years off the air, Baywatch is on its way back to the beach.
The syndicated show, which followed the lives of a bunch of sexy lifeguards both in and out of the water, was a global phenomenon at its height.
Airing for 11 years, Baywatch, later renamed Baywatch Hawaii, made stars out of the likes Carmen Electra, Yasmine Bleeth and Jason Momoa.
David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson became worldwide megastars with their participation.
Now British TV giant Fremantle is developing a reboot of the series, according to .
Talks are being held with networks and streaming companies about picking up the new series.
While it's not clear who will be squeezing into those tiny swimsuits, many of the shows original stars could come back for cameos.
DAVID HASSELHOFF
David Hasselhoff, 71, played lead character Mitch Buchannon on every season of Baywatch - including the three direct-to-video movies and series spin-off Baywatch: Hawaii.

The former Knight Rider was famously treated for alcoholism, was a judge on Britains Got Talen in 2011, and had his own reality show Hoff The Record.
He's been H-off tv now for several years.
PAMELA ANDERSON
Pamela, 56, who played CJ Parker on the show, stepped out at Paris Fashion Week a few months ago looking worlds apart from her usually heavy made-up self.
Instead, the Baywatch star was bare-faced and said that she was embracing a new beauty chapter where she could "go against the grain and do the opposite of what everyone’s doing."
Since then, the mother-of-two has further opened up about her decision – revealing how she decided to ditch the make-up so the focus was on her clothes instead.
YASMINE BLEETH
Yasmine Bleeth played Caroline Holden on the worldwide-syndicated series from 1993 until 1997.
Now 55, the actress was spotted looking drastically different while out running errands with friends in Los Angeles last year.
Yasmine retired from her acting career around 20 years ago, shortly after her time on Baywatch came to a close.
NICOLE EGGERT
Nicole Eggert has been bravely open about her fight with breast cancer, which has recently cost her her hair.
Earlier this month, the 52-year-old showed off her bald head as she smiled wearing black framed glasses.
The Charles in Charge star also had a face mask under her chin and hospital staff could be seen in the background.
"Egghead," Nicole jokingly captioned the post, adding an egg emoji.
JEREMY JACKSON
Mitch's son, Hobie, is all grown up now - and gray.
Jeremy Jackson, 43, was known for his chiseled features and bulging biceps on the show,
But just a few years ago, he showcased his dramatic transformation with a more rugged appearance, sporting a large bushy beard that covered most of his face and extended way past his chin.
ERIKA ELENIAK
Erika Eleniak, who showed lots of skin as lifeguard Shauni McClain, has since covered up with body-blocking tattoos.
The now 54-year-old left the show early on, after feeling it had grown to "risqué" for her tastes.
She was replaced by Pamela Anderson, and the rest is...you know.
DONNA D'ERRICO
Donna D'Errico celebrated her birthday this week by stripping down to her birthday suit.
The actress, who turned 56 on Saturday, also shared a message of support for PETA.
"I'm feeling fabulous wearing my birthday suit," she shared in the caption. "So excited to celebrate my birthday this week by sharing my campaign with @peta and inspiring you to save animals by wearing vegan!"
CARMEN ELECTRA
At 51, Carmen Electra looks electrifying as ever.
The model-turned-OnlyFans-star left little to the imagination earlier this month when she stripped down for a social media post.
The MTV star became a legend during Spring Break weeks with her looks and party attitude.
JASON MOMOA
Before he saved lives in the water as Aquaman, Jason Momoa saved lives on the beach.
The 44-year-old joined the lifeguard squad at the end of the shows run, signing up for Baywatch Hawaii from 1999-2001.
