The stars have barely aged and it's clear they're as close as ever

TRACY Beaker star Dani Harmer is spending the Easter Holidays in Wales – and she has a familiar face ready to keep her company.

In a sweet new picture posted on Instagram, 35-year-old Dani was seen cuddled up with co-star Cara Readle, a fellow former member of the children’s home known as the Dumping Ground.

Cara brought cerebral palsy representation onto the screen in Layla

Cara, now 33, played Layla Jones from series three to series five of the hit CBBC show, which followed the adventures of rebellious Tracy (played by Dani) as she got up to mischief and let her imagination run wild.

The actress, who has cerebral palsy, broke new ground for the show by playing the first character to have a disability.

In the new picture, taken at a restaurant, Cara wore a black and white jumper and kept her blonde hair straight as she beamed alongside Dani.

Dani, who had his hair in two buns on her head, smiled just as proudly next to her.

Sharing the snap on Instagram Stories first, Dani later moved the pic to the grid due to the incredible reaction.

“Nothing better than catching up with one of your oldest friends!” she wrote. “This was getting so much love in my stories I just had to make ‘Tracy & Layla;’ permanent on my feed!

“Me and @carajayne.1 had the loveliest evening reminiscing about our crazy childhood! The perfect evening.”

Cara similarly shared the picture on her Stories, adding simply, “was so lush”.

The reunion was spurred on by Dani appearing in Swansea Grand Theatre’s Easter panto from April 4th to 6th.

In a retelling of the Wizard of Oz, she will be playing Glinda the Good Witch for some wholesome family fun.

While in rehearsals, she found the perfect opportunity to catch up with her Welsh native pal.
