SINCE shooting to fame in the BBC's raunchy drama Industry, Marisa Abela has seen the jobs pour in.

Now she taking on the role of her life as troubled singer Amy Winehouse in big screen biopic Back To Black.

Who is Marisa Abela?

Marisa Abela is an actress known for her work both on the big and small screen.

Before finding fame she was set on becoming a human rights lawyer, and accepted a place at University College London to study history.

But due to her family being the entertainment industry, she found herself following that path too.

Speaking to , she said: “I think I rebelled against it because I could see it took a lot of gumption . . . and it scared me quite a bit.”

Having starred on stage at school as Juliet in Romeo And Juliet, Marisa went on to graduate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

Directed by Fifty Shades Of Grey’s Sam Taylor-Johnson, the film portrays the troubled star's rise to fame and her subsequent death in 2011.

Production for the film began on January 16, 2023, with Marisa spotted filming scenes dressed as Amy, complete with beehive and heavy eye make-up.
