Coronation Street fans call out baffling age blunder as bosses ‘rewind time’ with child star
The character celebrated their birthday but the number on the cake perplexed fans.
CORONATION Street fans have called out a baffling age blunder as bosses ‘rewind time’ with a child star.
During Friday’s episode, Sarah – played by Tina O’Brien – was seen preparing for son Harry’s birthday.
Her partner Damon Hay was also keen to impress the little boy, especially as he wasn’t going to be able to make his party the next day.
To make up for it, Damon brought Harry a birthday cake a day early to enjoy, but Coronation Street fans were perplexed by the number eight candle that was on the top.
Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: “He was born on March 21st 2016 so in theory that birthday party yesterday should have been his 8th.
“According to the Corrie Wiki the twins playing him have done so since 2017, so maybe they actually are around that age, I know some 8 year olds are small.
“But in the show he acts about 4 or 5 years old at most and everyone treats him like he’s about that age as well (which ofc is on the writers/directors, not the actors).
“What do we think the plan is here? Are they retconning his age to make him younger? Are we just supposed to believe your average eight year old barely speaks in full sentences and gets that excited about balloons?
“Is he being reverse-Jacked? Is he gonna be forever young? What’s going on with Harry Platt? Hope was already a pyromaniac at his age! He needs to catch up!”
Another Coronation Street fan replied: “I’ve been wondering this for a while and the only conclusion I’ve come to is that the writers have straight up forgotten how old he is.”
A third commented: “To be fair, his birthday cake had an eight on it yesterday but he’s definitely played younger. They’ll suddenly age him up in a couple of years.”
Meanwhile a fourth added: “It’s mad if you compare him to Miley. She was almost 8 but looked 11.”
Harry is the son of Sarah and Callum Logan and was born in March 2016, making him eight years old.
Twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes have shared the role since 2017.
