THE ONE Show fans were left seriously distracted during last night’s show by “ageless” Hollywood star who has been “looking the same for decades.”
Roman Kemp and Jermaine Jenas hosted Thursday night’s episode of the BBC talk show and welcomed Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire stars Ernie Hudson, Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard to join them on the green sofa. But while they chatted about the new movie, viewers found them distracted by Ernie’s youthful appearance, especially after finding out his real age.
Ernie, who is best known for his role as Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters, appeared on The One Show last night to celebrate the release of Frozen Empire, the next movie in the franchise. He was joined by his co-stars Mckenna Grace (Young Sheldon) and Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things).
As well as the first Ghostbusters movie which was released in 1984, Ernie starred in the follow-ups Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters: Afterlife, as well as the 2016 female remake of the original, playing the cameo role of Patty Tolan’s uncle.
Roman and Jermaine were quick to ask Ernie about the enduring legacy of the Ghostbusters franchise and his role in it.
“Yeah, it’s amazing,” he said in response, before praising the fans. “Fans for 40 years they’ve kept it alive even when there was no Ghostbusters. People got tattoos. They just showed up and kept it going.”

For Frozen Empire, Ernie is not the only original Ghostbuster who graces the silver screen, though.
Original stars Danny Aykroyd and Bill Murray are returning, although sadly Harold Ramis passed away in 2014.
“Fans of years gone by are going to absolutely love it. You’re back as well with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. What’s it like filming with those boys? Is it back to the same carnage?” Roman asked, trying to tease some spoilers out of Ernie.
Ernie replied: “Yeah, it’s almost like stepping into a postcard. I mean, Bill Murray, Danny, they’re brilliant, you never know what to expect.

“But I think we were all so excited to meet the new guys that have carried on the franchise, I mean these guys are amazing,” he added, gushing about his co-stars Mckenna and Finn who made their debut in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
But while Ernie discussed how exciting it was to make this movie, viewers at home could only focus on one particular detail.
They couldn’t stop talking about how young Ernie looked, especially after finding out the Hollywood A-Lister’s real age.
How many Ghostbusters movies are there?
There a five movies in the Ghostbusters franchise spanning over 40 years.
- Ghostbusters (1984)
- Ghostbusters II (1989)
- Ghostbusters (2016)
- Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)
- Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2017)
Ernie is nearly 80, but fans don’t think he’s aged a day since first playing Winston in 1984.
The Desperate Housewives actor turned 78 in December, a fact that viewers were shocked to learn.
“Watching The One Show on BBC One and wondering how on earth is Ernie Hudson 78 years old? What’s your secret Ernie?” one viewer exclaimed on X, formerly Twitter.
“Ernie Hudson doesn’t look a day older than the day the original Ghostbusters was released 78!!! Jesus!!” said a second shocked BBC fan.
“He definitely doesn’t look that age,” another agreed, while a fourth viewer praised his “high collagen levels.”
“Ernie Hudson is a legend. Looks amazing for his age,” a fifth viewer added.
