CHRISTINE McGuinness has celebrated another year around the sun by posting a nude photograph of herself on social media, admitting that she feels “more comfortable in my own skin".
The 36-year-old has been through a tumultuous time of late having split from her long-term partner, the comedian Paddy McGuinness with whom she has three children.
But having emerged from a difficult period, the model and reality star has also enjoyed a productive year, where she has reached new heights in her personal and professional life and wishes therefore to celebrate getting older.
Writing alongside a series of images from a photoshoot with Fabulous Magazine she said: “Year 35 you were incredible.
"Some of my highlights from last season, I climbed a mountain, I went on a dream holiday with my mum and my babies.
"My dad got better, I wrote another book, launched my own products in the stores over the UK and brought out my own clothing brand.”
And the mother-of-three added that there were other milestones reached that she’s not yet able to disclose.
She said: “I won a diversity award and a Guinness world record and so much more that I can’t share yet.
"I have loved 35 and I’m even more excited about this next season. Feeling more comfortable in my own skin, being more myself and definitely doing more of what I loved.”
Despite having separated from Paddy, the pair still live together in their 7 bedroom mansion as they choose to co-parent their twins, Penelope and Leo, nine and Felicity six, all of whom have autism.
The reality star admits that while separated they are in no hurry to get divorced, as she continues to work on her mental health.
While her ex-BBC Top Gear presenter Paddy, 50, has been a TV star for many years, Christine’s career on the small screen is beginning to blossom.
Recently she’s starred in a BBC Two series called Pilgrimage: The Road Through North Wales which sees a group of celebs travel on a spiritual journey from Basingwek to Bardsey Island in Wales.
Speaking on the three-part series about her relationship she said: “The only life I’ve known is with Patrick and I’m not sure what my path is now I’m on my own.
“Patrick and I have been separated for almost two years now, but I don’t think I’ve dealt with the separation completely yet and I know that one day I’m going to have to do that.’
But whatever the future holds for the Cheshire-based pair, Christine insists that for now, the children come first.
“Our children won’t be children forever.
"They’re only young for a short time and we respect each other enough to say, ‘We both want to be here, let’s do it together and be happy.'
"We’ll always put the children first.
"We’re living in a happy home and it’s working for us for now — I’m not sure if it’s our long-term plan.”
