Elsewhere, actor Simon Pegg will head up the cast on Snuff with both shows set to air across BBC One and CBBC this Easter weekend.

“These heartwarming tales are a testament to the timeless magic of storytelling.

“I’m thrilled to bring Mrs Armitage to life and share her whimsical adventures with family audiences!”

In the episode, Mrs Armitage and her faithful dog Breakspear are stopped from doing their crazy adventures when an accident puts a hole in Mrs Armitage’s confidence.

I’m a Gavin and Stacey superfan & made a pub in my garden completely devoted to the show, I even spent £1,000 on glasses

During her recovery, when more accidents occur it seems as though she may remain a shell of her former self forever until her Uncle Cosmo comes along with a car that changes everything for her.

Speaking of the programme’s being brought to life on the TV screen, Quentin said: “It’s wonderful to see the characters that I’ve known for such a long time suddenly moving across the screen in front of me.

“The BBC and Eagle Eye have brought them to life beautifully and I’m so grateful.”

Mrs Armitage on Wheels will air on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on Sunday 31 March and on BBC One on Monday 1 April.
