JEREMY Clarkson was left stunned after a Who Wants to be a Millionaire contestant exposed a backstage secret and gasped 'I'm not supposed to say that!'
Tuesday night saw Jeremy, 63, welcome contestants from sister show Fastest Finger First and give them a chance to win a life-changing sum of money.
It turned out to be a dramatic episode, as one contestant became only the second player during Jeremy's tenure to go home with nothing after getting a question about a Spanish tortilla wrong.
The next contestant seemed to be fairing better, making his way up the board without touching his lifelines.
He set his safety net on the £125,000 question but ended up getting the £64,000 wrong, meaning he went home with just £1,000.
The final contestant was Maria, who managed to get underway with her questions before there was a klaxon signalling the end of the show.

But when Jeremy said: "Ah, right you know what that means..."
She replied: "Yeah, it means I have to go and get changed."
However, she suddenly realised she had given away the fact that the shows are filmed back to back and covering her mouth, said: "I'm not supposed to say that am I?"
Jeremy thought it was hilarious and as he and the audience laughed, he said: "That's exactly what it means.

"And you're absolutely right, I'll be seeing you in about an hour's time.
"As far as the viewers are concerned, you're going home, and you're going to be panicking 'Oh no...' and then we'll see you next week."
The contestant was mortified and hid her face in her hands as Jeremy spoke.
He added: "You're absolutely right that is the end of the show, you do have to go and get changed..."
Then as he looked at the camera, he said: "Maria will be back next time it says on the autocue to see if she can get further than £4,000."
Fans react
Who Wants to be a Millionaire viewers were also amused by the faux pas, and took to X - formerly Twitter - to discuss.
One wrote: "Oh my god that’s been the most iconic episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire since the coughing major."
Someone else replied: "With a proper lol from the final contestant too. JC: You know what that means? Contestant: I need to go and get changed."
The original poster responded: "Honestly incredible."
Another tweeted: "I know it’s been aired before but fair play to
@ITV for keeping the bit about ‘I’ve got to get changed now on #WWTBAM."
