It sees Jason's character Simon lash out after confronting a group of teenagers who had been harassing him and the neighbourhood.

One fateful evening, when he is looking after his young daughter while his wife is at work, Simon encounters the gang leader, 17-year-old Jordan, outside his home.

An altercation between the pair erupts, which soon turns his world upside down and leaves Jordan's life hanging in the balance.

Coma viewers have already shared their brutally honest feedback following the first episode and didn't hold back either after the second instalment.

It saw tensions heighten as Simon was hailed a local hero, thus being forced to keep up his lie.

Meanwhile, Jordan remains in a critical condition and in a coma.

Paul started his own digging, and the tangled web of lies started to unravel.

Reacting to the scenes on social media, one viewer said: "Just finished the second episode of the #Coma. While I'm yet to be blown away by it fully I'm still curious as to how it plays out with two left to go. Just hoping that I won't be thinking it was predictable or they could have been done better."

A second wrote: "It's supposed to be a murder enquiry and there's just the one useless DS on the case. The police stuff in this is ridiculous. The storyline is ridiculous. And the acting."

"#Coma on Channel 5 had loads of potential but its absolute garbage!!! The storyline is decent but my word the Acting is awful," fumed a third.

However, some Channel 5 viewers have become gripped to the series.

Another fan said: "#Coma on @channel5_tv is twisty and gripping and entertaining … #jonasarmstrong is brilliantly menacing as Paul Franklin; his scenes with Jason Watkins are so, so tension-filled."

"That was really good I can't wait for the next episode tomorrow," said a fifth.

Coma continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5 and is available now on My5.
