EMMERDALE’S Aaron Dingle has made a shock decision tonight.
The mechanic - who is played by actor Danny Miller in the ITV soap - has been waiting for test results about whether he has inherited a gene from his mum Chas that makes it more likely that he will develop cancer.
Viewers know Chas is battling breast cancer and has undergone a double mastectomy in an effort to give herself the best chance of survival.
When she was diagnosed with the gene, her brothers Cain Dingle and Caleb Miligan, were told and went for testing along with Aaron.
And in tonight’s episode the results were returned.
Aaron read his letter alone which said a “pathogenic mutation” had been detected, meaning he was a carrier of the gene.

But while Cain and Caleb celebrated being given the all clear of the gene, Aaron was devastated.
He sat alone at home looking shellshocked.
Later as he visited Chas in hospital, he was asked about getting his results - and he made the decision to lie to him mum.
“Yeah, I’m negative as well,” he said.
