A BBC NEWS presenter who was pulled off air for an entire year has returned to screens today.
Annita McVeigh delighted fans when she appeared on the channel this afternoon.
The journalist had been taken off air along with four other stars last year as the Beeb merged its news channels.
However, last month it was announced Annita would be returning to the station and promoted to chief presenter.
Annita took to social media to mark her return as fans flooded her with support.
Alongside a snap of her in the studio, she penned: "….and I’m back. In Studio C with #NewsNow until 1500GMT - so good to be bringing you the news again."

A second wrote: "So pleased to see you back @AnnitaBBC , I have really missed you. At long last an experienced newsreader."
"Congratulations on your return to BBC News. It was a travesty that you had to reapply for your position," said a third.
While a fourth commented: "Wonderful news Annita. Welcome back."
