AN EastEnders legend has confirmed her Doctor Who comeback after the BBC ‘s huge Disney+ deal.
Bonnie Langford has left fans delighted as she announced she’s returning to the series this Spring.
The 59-year-old will reprise her role as Melanie ‘Mel’ Bush for Doctor Who‘s fourteenth series.
Bonnie, who previously starred as Carmel Kazemi in EastEnders, spoke about her return after 37 years to Alan Titchmarsh.
She told the presenter: “It’s so wonderful to be part of it – It’s BBC through and through but also it’s on Disney+ worldwide and it’s very exciting to be part of the show.”
Explaining her return, Bonnie said: “You see what happened – I’m in the new series [but] I had to drive a Vespa. It was hilarious.
“So we were driving up and down the streets of Cardiff. So of course there are all the fans there. They know where we’re going before we do.
“They’re very, very good so, they had to announce I was part of it which is very exciting.”
Bonnie was appearing on ITV’s Love Your Garden but stopped short on revealing whether she will star in Doctor Who alongside the 15th doctor.
It comes as Doctor Who will return in May after Beeb bosses signed a £10million deal with Disney+.
Doctor Who will make its global premiere around the Whoniverse and for those in the UK on May 11.
For the very first time, the show will land with two episodes on BBC iPlayer at midnight before arriving on BBC One later that day.
The episodes will be followed by the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final.
Those outside the U.K. can also catch up on the Doctor and Ruby Sunday’s adventures as the show will drop on Disney+.
The new season features the return of Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor alongside Millie Gibson as companion Ruby Sunday after making their debuts on Christmas Day.
