Emmerdale’s Nicola King gets devastating news about jailed daughter Angelica

EMMERDALE’S Nicola King has been dealt a devastating blow about daughter Angelica in tonight’s episode.

The former councillor - who is played by actress Nicola Wheeler in the ITV soap - is struggling after her daughter was imprisoned for causing the death of Heath Hope during a joy ride gone disastrously wrong.

She spent all day desperate for news from the secure unit.

But when Angel finally called, Nicola and Jimmy were shocked by how she was.

“When can you visit? I need you. I don’t like it here. It’s scary.”

Nicola put on a brave face and told her: “Angel, you listen to me, there is nothing to be scared of. 

“Most of those girls are probably just the same as you. They got themselves into trouble and they are just trying to make the best of it. 

“So you walk tall and remember you’re a King. Kings are wise, Kings are brave, Kings are special. We are so so proud of you darling.”

But once she put the phone down, Nicola broke down.

Sobbing into Jimmy she cried: “She’s scared. I just want my little girl.”

Surprisingly she found comfort in a strange place when she visited Bob to apologise.

“I just wanted to say that I’m sorry, in case you didn’t know that already,” she said.

“Or if you think I only thought about Angel in this. I think of all of them at night. What did happen, what could’ve happened. What any of us could’ve done differently. 

“It’s so awful. Angel locked up, Cathy losing her brother and Heath. I feel like I’ve failed.”

Bob told her there was nothing any of them could do to change things but could only move on and try to be better.
