Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton actress Cait Fitton’s surprise side hustle unearthed as she raises £500 flogging CDs
She went on to tour pubs as a pre-teen in order to drum up cash
CORONATION Street star Cait Fitton enjoyed a forgotten singing career when she was aged just 12 in a move worlds away from her current acting role.
The Lauren Bolton star raked in £500 after selling 100 copies of her own CD containing three cover hits when she was just a child.
Cait recorded her first ever CD in order to raise funds for two charities in Manchester.
The actress looks worlds away from her days as rough and ready Lauren in a snap taken of her handing over the cash to one of the hospitals she donated funds toward.
Cait’s album generated £250 for Grace’s Place as well as an additional £250 for Francis House children’s hospice in Manchester.
On her first record, a then 12-year-old ‘theatre mad’ Cait sang the Les Mis number I Dreamed A Dream as well as Miley Cyrus track Wrecking Ball and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera.
Her idea to do a charity album came about after getting a recording studio session as a Christmas present and deciding that she wanted to help out those in need.
With the help of her then-management, Cait struck a deal with staff at the studio to produce 500 copies of the CD for free so that she could flog them to family and friends as well as on social media in order to raise funds for the charities.
She released the album under the name of Caitlin Rose and her mum confessed at the time that it had made Cait determined to continue raising much-needed cash for the charities.
Amanda Murphy, Cait’s mum, said in 2014: “Caitlin came up with selling the CD for Francis House because it is for children and it is her school’s charity.
“Then we learned about Grace’s Place starting up, which when it opens will cater for children from our area, so Caitlin decided to sell the CDs for both charities.
“Caitlin sees the Grace’s Place fundraising as an ongoing project, and will try her hardest to raise whatever money she can with my help.
“We thank Scott and Alison at Dusty Studios for donating their time to burn all these CDs and arrange the printing.”
The mother-daughter duo also fancied themselves as entrepreneur’s after flogging lip balms to raise even more cash.
Following the local success of her record, the pre-teen began touring local pubs before hitting the big time on Coronation Street.
Cait joined the cast of Corrie as Lauren in 2022 as the daughter of far-right menace Reece who was a member of the evil Griff’s extremist group.
Reece groomed Lauren into believing the same thing before she eventually escaped their clutches when they felt the full force of the law come down on them.
Lauren has been seen in and out of Weatherfield ever since and has built up a clientele on OnlyFans in order to pay her bills despite her tender age.
However, the teen has recently gone missing and the police now fear she has been ‘murdered’ by a mystery ex-boyfriend with some theories suggesting it is one of Lauren’s adult webcam subscribers.
