Now Laura, 36, is finally ready to release her first album - and fans can't wait.

The Bolton-born singer took to social media to announce the news, telling her followers: "This album is for you.

"I wanted it to be a body of work for you to hear my voice sing, songs that could have been written for Frank Sinatra, all the songs that move you and for the musicianship to be only the very best."

Laura's album Woman to Woman is set to be released in November.

But while fans have had to wait for her first record, Laura has been keeping busy in the meantime.

She co-wrote the 2015 track New York Raining by Charles Hamilton and Rita Ora, which was nominated for a Grammy.

Laura has also penned tracks for artists including Steps, with her contributing to their album What The Future Holds.

Speaking about writing songs for other artists, Laura told Good Star Vibes: "Songwriting was my tool, I worked on for decades, and I can’t believe I’ve become a songwriter as much as an artist it’s made me so proud!

"I love to write songs for artists as huge as Steps! They asked me to write a song and I wrote One Touch, just me and my diary, on a summer’s day on Richmond Green, lovely!"

I got millions of streams & generated millions of pounds – I’ll never understand why I was dropped, says X Factor star

Laura was mentored by Cheryl Tweedy during her time on The X Factor.

She landed in the bottom two alongside Ruth Lorenzo and the deciding vote came down to Louis Walsh, who is currently in the Celebrity Big Brother house.

He opted to save Ruth and send Laura home and it was later reported he and Cheryl had a huge bust-up over the decision.

A source at the time told the : "Cheryl was incandescent with rage and let her feelings be known.

“She was absolutely furious  and was giving him what for. No one has ever seen her so angry but she is really passionate about her acts."
