The show will be raising money for Stand Up To Cancer UK, which funds life-saving research.

Adam shared that he actually lost his dad to cancer in 2013, just as he started hosting The Last Leg on Channel 4.

He hopes to pay tribute to his father by taking part in Celebrity Bake Off, and help prevent others from going through the same heartbreaking experience.

He told Radio Times: "My dad was about 55 when he had stomach cancer.

"He went through chemo, radiotherapy, and had a stem cell transplant, then got leukaemia at 69 and had a bone marrow transplant. His body just couldn’t take it.

"Wouldn’t it be amazing to raise more money so the treatment isn’t quite as horrible or, in my dad’s case, doesn’t end up killing you?"

Adam will be going into the tent alongside Reverend Richard Coles, Sara Cox and Joe Locke.

Baking hunk Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be back to judge their efforts and pick the overall winner, with Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding also returning.

Adam has done a lot of other work around raising awareness when it comes to disabilities, as he himself as born without a right foot and walks on a prosthesis.

His missing foot did not hold him back as a child, as his parents encouraged him to take part in gymnasticsfootball and cricket.

Adam has always been refreshingly candid about his condition, though he dislikes the term "disabled".
