Copper Marlon Pryce - played by Tahj Miles - has been a part of the cast since 2021 but has now bowed out of the series.

Who is Marlon Pryce's actor Tahj Miles?

Actor Tahj Miles joined Death In Paradise in season 10 as young troublemaker Marlon Pryce.

Over the years, his character has changed a lot and eventually became a policeman.

As Marlon, Tahj also starred in the Death In Paradise spin-off show Beyond Paradise.

Before landing the job, the talented star was best known for his work in the West End.

The young officer made the decision to leave the island after his sister got a scholarship in Jamaica.

His last scenes were played out on March 3, 2024, when his sister Jocelyn got a letter about a scholarship in Jamaica.

This led Marlon to hand in his notice while sharing with the Commissioner that there were no openings for him in the police in Jamaica.

He said to his colleague Naomi Thomson: "I want to do good by Jocelyn, but I don't want to not be a police officer."

Marlon decided to prioritise his sister's future, even though it meant giving up his beloved job.

However, unbeknownst to him, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson had headed overseas to talk up his officer - and in a surprise for soap fans he met up with Marlon's former partner J.P. Hooper, in order to get him a job.

At the end of the episode, as the team said goodbye to Marlon there was an added surprise for the young officer as JP was there to greet him and tell him there was a police job waiting for him in his new home.

Marlon was excited to be reunited with his pal, and was over the moon when JP told him he had spoken to the Jamaican police and got him a job.

In the sixth episode of series 13, aired on March 10, 2024, the remaining team of DS Naomi Thomas and Darlene Curtis are seen missing their former colleague as a replacement for him is yet to be found.

But Naomi reveals she's heard from young Marlon who reported that the girls in Jamaica were "off the charts".

What has Tahj Miles said about the role?

Speaking out about his exit, actor Tahj shared a snap of himself behind the scenes of the thirteenth season of Death In Paradise.

He kept it short and sweet and simply wrote: "It’s been real people, Marlon out."

Tahj's character's departure was a bittersweet moment and left fans at home sobbing that he was leaving.

Taking to X/Twitter, one wrote: "Fully sobbing that marlon has left :(."
