Coronation Street and Broadchurch stars team up for twisted new thriller The Crow Girl

PARAMOUNT+ UK & Ireland has announced the commission of a new original drama series starring Coronation Street's Katherine Kelly, Broadchurch's Eve Myles and Mission: Impossible 2 star Dougray Scott.
The psychological thriller The Crow Girl is an adaptation of Erik Axl Sund's trilogy of novels, created by the Emmy-winning creative team Buccaneer.
The series begins with the grisly discovery of a teenage boy’s discarded body in plain sight.
Welsh star Eve’s character, DCI Jeanette Kilburn, becomes determined to hunt down the killer as she joins forces with Katherine’s character, a psychotherapist named Sophia Craven, despite resistance from her superiors, including confidant DI Lou Stanley, played by Vigil star Dougray.
The murder investigation takes a dark turn when the pair start unravelling the dangerous world of historic abuse and murder.
DCI Jeanette and Sophia soon discover a chain of shocking events that have been overlooked for decades, as well as evidence of police corruption.
With the body count rising, the two women are dragged into the depths of the murders.
Intimacy forms between them, beginning a complex, twisted love story as the killer inched ever closer to home.
Broadchurch star Eve, who most recently starred in Apple’s Hijack opposite Idris Elba, said: “Jeanette is such a compelling character. As soon as I read the script, I knew I wanted to explore her story in more detail.
“It’s been a really terrific first few weeks on set working alongside a team of such incredible talented people!”
Speaking on the upcoming series, Katerine, well-known for playing her former role of Becky McDonald on Corrie, added: “ Jeanette is such a compelling character. As soon as I read the script, I knew I wanted to explore her story in more detail.
“It’s been a really terrific first few weeks on set working alongside a team of such incredible talented people!”
Emmy and BAFTA winner Dougray Scott went on to say: “I am thrilled to get started on The Crow Girl, and I am really looking forward to working with all of the extremely talented people on this production.”
Sebastian Cardwell, Deputy Chief Content Officer, UK, and Paul Testar for Paramount+ commissioned The Crow Girl, which will also star Clara Rugaard as Victoria Burkeman, Victoria Hamilton as Superintendent Verity Pound, Elliot Edusah as DC Mike Dilliston, Chloe Sweetlove as Madeleine Burkeman and Lee Boardman as David White.
Sebastian spoke on the forthcoming series and said: “We are thrilled to be working with Buccaneer again on the adaption of this gripping novel.

“And to be making this show alongside the fierce talents of Paramount+ and Buccaneer is a real joy.
“Seeing Eve, Katherine, Dougray, and the rest of our incredible cast at work is so exhilarating, and I can't wait to finally share it with audiences.”
