WHO Wants To Be A Millionaire fans were left raging as a contestant came away with £250,000 after answering a string of 'dumbed down' questions.
Gerard, a 27-seven-year-old PHD student, appeared confident as he breezed through 13 out of 15 questions.
But his impressive run with host Jeremy Clarkson failed to convince viewers.
Despite proving very knowledgeable on a range of subjects, fans were adamant the contestant was given 'easy' questions, and took to X/Twitter to vent about it.
Many raged 'It's a disgrace!', describing the questions as 'dumbed down'.
One wrote: "Just me or are this guy's questions very easy? The one about South American grasslands was clearly the one that was the only Spanish word there. This one about authors, Harper Lee famously "published" Go Set a Watchman just before she died."

A second added: "It’s a disgrace. How can it be this easy ffs?! Is it because he’s a student?"
A third complained: "This week's questions on who wants to be a millionaire are so easy like the £32,000 question was so basic lmao."
A fourth added: "The questions are definitely easier than they used to be."
A fifth wrote: "As ever, if you know them, you know them, and if you don't you don't, but they've been pretty straightforward to get him up to £32K ..."

Others though praised Gerard's performance.
One wrote: "This Irish guy is so good!! Go on the Irish!"
A second added: "Gerard is smashing it, well done."
Gerard walked away with a jaw-dropping £250,000 after opting to take the money rather than gambling it away.
Jeremy who was impressed with the contestant, said: "What a great contestant you've been, what a pleasure to have you here."
Teasing the next player on the show, the Clarkson's Farm star said: "You have a lot to live up to after Gerard."
Meanwhile on a recent episode of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, a contestant was embarrassed after calling his wife after choosing to 'Phone A Friend' and a strange voice answered.
