Big Brother legend Brian Dowling reveals he’s going to be a dad for a second time

BIG Brother legend Brian Dowling has announced he’s expecting his second child with husband, Arthur Gourounlian. 

The couple, who have been married since 2015, shared the happy news on Instagram on Saturday morning with an adorable post featuring their daughter, Blake.

Blake, who was born in September 2022 with Brian’s sister Aoife acting as the pair’s surrogate, was seen running down the street with a cute pink jumper bearing the words: “Promoted to Big Sister”. 

She also wore a headband with a bow on it, and was wearing an adorable, tutu-style skirt with roses stitched onto it. 

The post - shared on both Brian and Arthur’s pages - read: “Our family is going to get bigger. We [...] are so excited about the arrival of Baby Dowling Gourounlian Number 2 this Summer.” 

“We have already been so blessed with Blake we can’t believe how lucky we are as parents to welcome another baby to our family.

“Blake is going to be the BEST BIG SISTER EVER.” 

The pair were quickly inundated with well-wishes from loved ones and fans. 

Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh posted a string of crying emojis and wrote: “This is just the most amazing news ❤” 

Irish radio presenter Doireann Garrihy wrote under Brian’s post: “Dad goals always 🥹❤️ CONGRATULATIONS Xxx”

She added on Arthur’s video: “Oh my god. Can’t wait to squeeze you!! Congratulations” 

Presenter and chef Donal Skehan added: “Woohoo! Congrats! Welcome to the madness!” 

The Saturdays singer Una Healy added: “This is brilliant news! I am so happy for you all xxx” 

The happy news comes just four months after Brian opened up about his infertility journey

Brian - who first shot to fame on Big Brother series two - found out he was infertile when they started their surrogacy journey.

Speaking on Ireland AM in November, he said: "It's something I have been very embarrassed about, I don't know why I'm embarrassed about it.

"The issue of the infertility for me is a much bigger issue, and that is of our daughter.

"I'm still her father - when I say I'm infertile, I still have a child. I'm very mindful of the words that I use and the conversation I have.
