STARS from the legendary sitcom The Big Bang Theory will reunite on-screen for the emotional series finale of the spin-off Young Sheldon.
Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon in Big Bang and narrates Young Sheldon, will reunite with his on-screen wife Mayim Bialik in the upcoming finale of the Texas-based sitcom. This will mark the first time Jim, 50, and Mayim, 48, have appeared on-screen together in five years.
The Big Bang Theory ran for a whopping 12 series and chronicled the lives of brilliant but socially awkward physicists and roommates Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hoffstader (played by Johnny Galecki).
Their lives, and the lives of their friends Raj and Howard (played by Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg), are irrevocably changed when Kaley Cuoco’s Penny moves in next door.
Mayim made her debut in the show’s third series, with her character Amy tying the knot with Sheldon in series 11.
The show was incredibly popular, but has been surpassed by its spin-off Young Sheldon, which follows Sheldon (now played by Iain Armitage) and his family during his childhood in Texas.

Young Sheldon premiered in 2017 and stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Annie Potts, Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan, and Emily Osment, alongside side Iain.
However, the comedy, which airs on CBS in the U.S. and Channel 4 in the U.K., will come to an end in just a few weeks after just seven seasons.
But before it does, Young Sheldon will hit a major milestone of having two Big Bang Theory cast members appearing on-screen together for a special moment.
When will Amy and Sheldon reunite?
Jim has been narrating Young Sheldon since it began and was briefly joined in his voiceover by Mayim at the end of series two. However, they have not yet appeared on-screen in any episodes.

That’s all set to change as Young Sheldon’s official Instagram account confirmed Jim and Amy would reunite for the finale of the spin-off.
The announcement read: “BIG news — Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will reprise their roles of Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler in the Young Sheldon finale! Our lips are sealed until then.”
While it’s not yet clear how the pair will fit into the finale, it seems likely they’ll be seen via a flash-forward.
In his voiceover at the end of series two, adult Sheldon confirmed that he and Amy welcomed a son named Leonard Cooper, so it’s possible he’ll make his debut, too.
However, it still remains to be seen if any of the other central characters from The Big Bang Theory will appear in Young Sheldon.
The end of the show is a major blow for fans, who are expecting it to get emotional as the impending death of George Sr, which occurs when Sheldon is a teenager, looms of series seven.
Young Sheldon is getting a spin-off
While we might be saying goodbye to Lance’s character, fans will not have to say a firm farewell to the rest of the cast, as some of the characters are set to return in another spin-off.
CBS has green-lit a series centred on Georgie and Mandy (Montana and Emily) and their life with their daughter CeCe.

“We’re very excited to continue their stories through the eyes of Georgie and Mandy.”
