A BELOVED travel series' fate is in the hands of television executives as its hosts wait to hear if it will be recommissioned.
Dan Walker and Helen Skelton's Pennine Adventure was adored by fans when it launched last year.
The Channel 5 series saw the presenters - who are close pals - head off as they explored Britain's mountains.
Over the course of four episodes 5News presenter Dan, 46, and Morning Live star Helen, 40, explored the peaks on their doorstep.
The pair had left Dan's home in Sheffield and travelled up to Helen's house in Cumbria while taking on new activities.
In one episode they tried the high-adrenaline activity Hydrospeeding leaving viewers amused.

However, despite being a fan-favourite, The Sun understands Dan and Helen are yet to hear if the show will be back.
Execs at Channel 5 are dragging their heels on whether to renew or cancel the series.
But the pairs on air chemistry and banter together could lead them into fronting another show entirely.
Dan and Helen previously issued a plea to fans over the fate of their series last September.
